after a long hiatus from cooking as a result of living out of a hotel for the past 3 months, i finally returned to the kitchen. saturday morning breakfast of french toast and yogurt and fruit. it’s difficult to find maple syrup here but luckily my roommates had some of the good stuff in the cupboard.
Bread (5 seed whole grain or challah)
Eggs, a little milk and vanilla with a dash of salt, whisked together
Dip the bread into the egg mixture and drop into a frying pan or griddle with butter. Brown well on both sides then sprinkle with cinnamon and pour syrup on top. serve with greek yogurt and honey mixed with grapenuts and fruit. warning: guaranteed to incur homesickness.
